Aroosa

Privacy Policy

Last updated 2 November 2026

Aroosa works with photos of you, so we keep this simple: we collect only what the service needs, never sell it, never use it for ads, and never use your photos to train AI models.

The controller of your data is ScreenLantern Labs Ltd (registered in England and Wales, company no. 17557308). Contact us about privacy at hello@aroosa.ai.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address, and a password if you set one.
  • Your photo: the photo of you used to make looks.
  • Clothing: photos of garments you add, and for store links, the product's name, price, store and link.
  • Looks: the pictures we make, the ones you save, and your thumbs up or down.
  • Chat: what you write to the assistant and its replies.
  • Purchases: what you bought and when. Card details go to Paddle, never to us.
  • Share links: the looks you share; for people who vote, the name and comment they type, and a random browser id (stored only as a one-way hash).
  • Waiting lists: if you join one, your email and the business details you give, used only to tell you when the feature opens. Ask us to remove you at any time.
  • Technical: your IP address, used briefly to limit abuse (for example, sign-ups per day) and in short-lived server logs.

Why we use it

  • To provide the service you signed up for — your account, looks, chat and purchases (our contract with you).
  • Photos of you can reveal sensitive things, such as religious dress. We treat them as sensitive, and process them only to make the looks you ask for, with your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting your photos in Settings.
  • To keep the service safe and prevent abuse (our legitimate interest).
  • To keep records the law requires (for example, tax records held by Paddle).

How we run Aroosa

Aroosa's try-on is designed and run by us. It runs on secure cloud infrastructure, with a small number of trusted partners for what every app needs:

  • Cloud infrastructure — hosting, storage and computing.
  • Email — sign-in and account emails.
  • Payments — Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record, which is responsible for the payment data it collects.

Each is bound by a data processing agreement, gets only what it needs, and may use your data only on our instructions — to make your looks and run the service, never to train AI models. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Your data is stored securely. Some of it is processed outside the UK and EU (mainly in the US), protected by the safeguards UK and EU law require, such as standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for our list of sub-processors at any time.

How long we keep it

  • Your photos, clothing, looks and chats: until you delete them, or your account.
  • Share links: until they expire (30 days) or you end them.
  • Abuse limits on IP addresses: up to a day, in memory only.
  • Deleting your account removes everything we hold about you. Paddle keeps its payment records as the law requires.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can:

  • see the data we hold about you, and get a copy;
  • correct it;
  • delete it — in Settings, "Delete all my photos" removes every photo and look, and "Delete account" removes everything;
  • object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it;
  • withdraw consent for your photos at any time.

Email hello@aroosa.ai for anything that isn't in Settings. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local authority — in France, the CNIL.

Cookies

We only use what the service needs: a cookie that keeps you signed in, a cookie that lets a shared link count one vote per browser, and your light or dark choice, kept in your browser. No analytics or advertising cookies.

Age

Aroosa is for people aged 16 and over. If we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app first.
